Before the King
Took one listen, and fell in love with Christ... let me share 3 tracks from a cd I bought today.
To download all 3 files, click here, then unzip. (15MB) This is in my opinion the best thing to do. (At the bottom of the page right click and save the file) To download the files individually, click on entry titles below, again at the bottom of the page right click save. (5-6MB each)
Listen to all 3 in succession with the text.
I really propose headphones or a gd soundblaster--the balance is delicate but so beautiful.
Read slowly.
Let the imagination run. =)
2: Jesus is Lord!
Hear the heavenly trumpets sound the arrival of the King!
It is the day of His coronation, but He makes it his first business
to call to Himself those He loves.
Jesus Christ himself,
majestic,
royal,
full of heart,
sets foot on the mount of olives
He's here again, a second time.
In His great heart He sums up the moments
He walked this same earth
A trumpet blasts!
the mountains and hills around Him are levelled,
from a great distance away we can see Him
Shining, glorious
Standing securely upon what is His
Every knee bends its deepest bow,
Every eye fills with tears to see this man in flowing white robes
for it is the long-cherished desire of every humble heart
A great multitude surges steadily forth to Him with a song of faith on their lips
and with great joy, He is welcomed home.
3: In Christ Alone
Clothed in shining white, with the steadiness of a march as they approach Him
The great multitude raise their voices in worship to sing:
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Brought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
4: Lost in Wonder
Imagine:
The multitude has sidled up to Him
Jesus starts to speak individually
to each who has come right by His side.
He is surrounded by so many,
everyone has something to tell Him
there's the persecuted, the faithful,
the young, and the old
the war stories,
the wonder in their eyes
each beholds this unforgettable scene
some fall at His feet and worship
others run into His arms
children clamber onto His back
And He holds them all and laughs with such mirth and joy
till He parts the crowd
and His gaze meets mine
there are tears in His eyes
and he takes my hand
and starts to speak to me...
He tells me how He's waited for this day.
Oh Lord, how I've waited too!
I stand mute, I am rapt in Your gaze
Oh Lord, this is endless delight, my heart is so full I barely have words
I did not deserve this!
"Shush, little one", says He. "I love you."
~~~~
For the rest of my days He will walk with me by quiet waters
and show me the sunsets of the sky.
At night He will teach me to laugh with the stars
I will know His heart, He will hold my hand
My sweet, awesome Saviour
Forever mine, and I His.
