Father, Morning!
Dear Dad,
I hug You good morning
like a toddler on his Father's arm
who does not yet have the words
to express his love and need for Dad
I thank You for knowing me inside out.
I thank You for having my future in Your hands
I thank You because all things can rest in You, no matter their currency, urgency, or significance.
For You are the most significant thing in my life
I rejoice because You are all that matters.
Lord, thank You because I can come to You
believing that before You
neither yesterday and its burdens, nor today and its endless work,
matters.
I thank You because in sweet surrender of my cares
I gain You.
And Oh, God, its just exciting to be out on a day with You!
I thank You for the new things you bring along each day
I thank You for your sense of humour
You keep me looking out for the presents you leave me
thru the whole day!
(people to bless, the sunrise (cos You love me!), the silver linings that materialise only by faith (its rather like being at Hogwarts actually, if you think about it) )
And the lessons You teach me Lord,
are so precious.
Inscribe Your lessons on my heart, God
Cos I always forget
But You know me best, so You know how to help me remember
I am still learning, and I will learn more yet to love You.
I'm amazed at Your creativity!
